Dotty finds herself swept away in a tornado and wakes up in another body in the strange and wonderful land of Oz. Sia Scarina, Ritora Rustin & Lionella Richtea help her on her journey to Circus City to see The Wiz a large and powerful Ringmaster who can help her back home to Lincoln but only if she embarks on a highly dangerous secret mission first. University of Lincoln Students Union Musical Theatre Society present The heat is on in 1950s New York and Nathan Detroit can’t find a location for his floating crap game, the only hope is the Biltmore Garage but for that he’ll need a thousand bucks! Luckily, high roller Sky Masterson is in town and is well known for making outlandish wagers. Meanwhile Sergeant Sarah Brown is struggling to convert the town’s sinners and Miss Adelaide of The Hotbox has reached her wit’s end with Nathan, her fiancé of fourteen years. Be careful what you wish for… Stephen Sondheim’s magical and musical intertwining of Grimm’s fairy tales follows the story of the Baker and his wife who wish for a child, Cinderella who wishes to go to the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes for his cow to give milk. When the Baker and his wife discover that their family has been cursed by the neighbourhood witch they set off on a journey into the woods in search of a cure. Also in the woods, we meet Little Red, the Wolf, the Witch’s daughter Rapunzel, and the Princes chasing after their loves. Will they all live happily ever after or will the consequences of their wishes haunt them in disastrous ways?
