We are very pleased to announce our Spring 2019 season of events! It’s time to break that shiny new 2019 diary out of it’s wrapper and plan your trips out to the theatre for the new year. We have a lot to offer and – as always – we recommend booking early so as not to miss out! You can view the new season brochure ONLINE. If you’d like to receive a hard copy, JOIN OUR MAILING LIST.   Please note, there are a couple of significant typos in the season brochure which slipped through the net of our proofing process. Coppelia (page 17) will be performed at 5pm, not the 7.30pm stated, and Horrible Histories (page 18) is not rated 16+; it is a family show for everyone. We apologise for any confusion caused.

ONE HUNDRED: Commemorating Women’s Suffrage

Posted by Craig Morrow, 6th February 2018, 16:14pm

Today marks one hundred years since the Representation of the People Act in 1918, the legislation that brought voting rights to all men and some women over the age of 30 and paved the way for full democratic equality and Universal Suffrage in 1928. Throughout 2018 the cultural calendar across the UK will be alive with events and activities that celebrate one hundred years of votes for women. To celebrate this important anniversary, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre will be producing a programme of activities culminating in a mass participatory outdoor event on the evening of 14 December 2018, one hundred years since the first General Election where women could vote. This celebratory event will animate the streets of Lincoln and draw attention to the diverse talent and creativity of the women in our amazing city. This female-led project is still at an early stage and we are looking for expressions of interest to form partnerships with women’s groups and organisations or individuals that might want to take part and help shape this communal celebration. We actively encourage expressions of interest from under-represented groups, including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), disabled and LGBTQ+. To take part you must be 16

NEWVOLUTIONS 2018 Programme

Posted by Craig Morrow, 9th January 2018, 22:25pm

Look at the programme here: Newvolutions Brochure 2018 If you’re curious about how new theatre and performance is made and excited about the possibility of influencing that work then NEWVOLUTIONS is for you. This year is our seventh micro-season of works- in-progress by local, regional and national performers. Over the past seven years we have supported over seventy productions, artists, choreographers, playwrights and theatre makers to develop their next big project – a number of which have gone on to have national tours and all of which were seen first by Lincoln audiences. Once again, this January – following two weeks of intensive workshops and rehearsals – we will be presenting a range of performance showcases at different stages of development, from the smallest spark of a new idea to pieces that are almost fully-formed. We’ll then invite you to give your feedback to the artists in an informal atmosphere, either as part of a post- show chat or over a drink at the bar. All events are FREE but capacity is limited so advanced booking is recommended. Most events are scheduled to allow you to see an entire evening’s programme back-to-back but do check with the box office for running
