At Lincoln Performing Arts Centre we split our programme between presented events and a small number of self-produced and commissioned events but we also invest our artistic budget and resources into supporting work that may never see our stages.
We believe that new work made locally is vital to a healthy arts ecology, creating employment opportunities but also a sense of pride in local audiences who see home-grown talent producing art of a national quality. Consequently, the majority our arts development work focuses on local and regional artists and companies, primarily through NEWVOLUTIONS our annual work-in-progress micro-festival but also through our co-commissioning strand.
//HOW TO APPLY FOR ARTIST SUPPORT
Because of the excellent work of In Good Company within the region we currently don’t offer a formalised Artist Support scheme. However, we’re all very friendly and will happily share a conversation over a cup of tea of coffee, so if you’re in the area let us know and we’ll try and arrange a chat and see how we can help. Alternatively, you can always apply for NEWVOLUTIONS – applications usually open in August for developmental space the following January.
//HOW TO APPLY FOR A COMMISSION
At present we don’t accept ‘cold’ applications for commissioning support, except for specific activity that we advertise publicly, usually via Arts Council England’s ArtsJobs website.
Works that we have commissioned in the past 10 years include:
2016 – A MACHINE THEY’RE SECRETLY BUILDING by Proto-Type Theater
