//WHAT IS LOV?
Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) is a network of 10 arts venues working together across the country to make the arts in Lincolnshire more exciting, unique and accessible to everyone. Over the past few years LOV has been developing a brand new way of working – challenging how venues and cultural organisations work together to become stronger and more resilient – ensuring that in the current economic climate arts and culture in Lincolnshire doesn’t just survive, but thrives.
//LOV ARTSITS COMMISSIONS
LOV isn’t just about bringing top quality artists and events into the area from elsewhere. The network also wants to make sure Lincolnshire is producing exciting new work, using talented artists from the across region and supporting superb projects both nationally and on an international scale.
Most recently, LOV commissioned Pilot Theatre to produce Ghost Town a new play about friendship and betrayal by Jessica Fisher. Ghost Town will be touring nationally in Spring 2014 and visits Lincoln Performing Arts Centre Thursday 27 – Friday 28 February 2014 – click here for more information.
//LOV YOUNG PEOPLE’S PROGRAMME
Currently LOV is looking to the future, making sure that the county’s arts venues are supporting young people to be part of the cultural landscape in Lincolnshire and to create a cultural shift amongst young people, schools and families in the way they access and perceive what we offer.
Through funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and support from Arts Council England the LOV Young People’s Programme is engaging young people aged 12-25 in a range of projects and opportunities to give them the chance to be audience members, artists, producers and programmers within Lincolnshire’s arts venues…
At Lincoln Performing Arts Centre we host a range of events and activities as part of LOV Young People’s Programme including the re:generation festival held every spring. We’re also supporting the development of the next generation of arts professionals through our young decision making group LPAC Producers – ensuring that young people have a voice in everything we do.
Look out for information on our website and throughout the venue about what we have on and how you can get involved.
