IMAGINE WHAT’S TO COME…
As well as blowing out some candles on a cake, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre is planning a year-long celebration of creativity in our city and we want to share this moment with you.
During 2018 we plan to:
Give away £10,000 worth of free tickets
We recognise that financial concerns are often a barrier to engagement with the arts and that the price of a ticket can often be too big a risk in terms of trying something new. In conjunction with the University of Lincoln, we’ll be offering free tickets to all events across the programme. Some of these tickets will be to specific groups, some to people new to the venue, whilst everyone will have a chance to win tickets for all of our shows in our weekly prize draw.
Bring 10 New Things to Lincoln
Lincoln Performing Arts Centre has a reputation for exciting and bold programming and we want to use 2018 to raise the bar even further. Across the year we’re planning to programme ten exciting events from regional, UK and internationally significant artists, new to the venue. This season includes Architects of Air, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, and Hoipolloi.
Invite You to Pick 10
We’re inviting you, our audiences, to help programme our tenth anniversary celebrations. Join our decision-making groups and choose 10 special events that you want to bring to Lincoln.
Hold 10 Community Residencies
Taking the Pop Out Festival mentality, we’re going to be taking our cultural activity out of the building and working with our different communities in 10 unique spaces, from shops, community centres, libraries and parks, to that bit of waste ground just down the road.
Celebrate Lincoln with an Open Stage Day
A community event, showcasing local talent, creativity and the diverse range of venue users on our main stage.
Appoint an Associate Artist
Over the years we’ve supported the creation of lots of shows that have gone on to tour nationally and internationally but we’ve never had the opportunity to invite a company to work with us for a longer period and our new Associate Artist scheme is designed to do just that.
