PROGRAMMING POLICY

//PRESENTED PROGRAMME

Lincoln Performing Arts Centre programmes around 120 ticketed events a year.  Our public performance programme is overseen by the Artistic Director Craig Morrow and consists of professional and student productions and community hires.  We present a diverse range of shows that complement the arts ecology of Lincoln and the region, with a particular emphasis on showing the best in contemporary performance, innovative classics and quality family work.

Alongside our core programme of drama, dance and classical music we’re interested in building audiences for contemporary theatre, new writing, site-specific, live and digital art and pervasive media performance.

//PRODUCED PROGRAMME

As a presenting venue we also nurture and support the development of new work locally and occasionally commission and produce work in-house and in collaboration. Please visit one of our artist development project pages in the Create section to learn more.

//WORK FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

As member of Lincolnshire One Venues we’re participating in a three-year Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded project, working with 12-25 year-olds to create a range of exciting activities and events for and by young people across the county; hosting an annual festival for young people – re:generation – every spring and throwing open the programming process to our young decision making group LPAC Producers.

In addition, a large part of our artistic policy is driven by the teaching and research practices of Lincoln School of Performing Arts and University of Lincoln’s College of Arts and we tend to schedule our contemporary performance programme to reflect this, booking most shows between October and March.

//PROGRAMMING PERIODS

Deadlines determine cut-off points for each season. The programming deadlines are as follows:

  • Autumn/Winter Season: events in September to January, has a programming deadline of May
  • Spring/Summer Season: events in Feb to July,has a programming deadline in the previous October.
